October 2007 lecture at Cambridge University in England. Science, math, and history are used to conclusively demonstrate that man-made CO2 is not responsible for climate change. Points out numerous errors in Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" movie and in the UN IPCC reports. Associating CO2 with climate change is having disastrous effects on energy supplies and economies. This video describes the unethical and fraudulent behavior of the warming proponents.
The Call of the Entrepreneur tells the stories of three entrepreneurs: A failing dairy farmer in rural Evart, Michigan; A merchant banker in New York City; A refugee from Communist China. Why do their stories matter? Because how we view entrepreneurs-as greedy or altruistic, as virtuous or vicious - shapes the destinies of individuals and nations. The stories restore faith in entrepreneurs ability to build lives, strengthen nations and economies as well as fulfill God-given destinies. The film rejects the myth that capitalists are self serving, arguing rather that they are almost wholly devoted to others. I found this film to be a welcome proclamation of how our lives are enriched through the human intellect and spirit.

Realistic and even-handed portrayal of FBI counterterrorism squad dispatched to Saudi Arabia to find the terrorists that killed 120 Americans in a horrific bombing. The U.S. agents include Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner ("Alias"). With their investigation hampered by local bureaucracy, the team realizes they may be the terrorists' next target. Some action sequences are very intense. This is the most realistic portrayal of the enemy we face that I have seen Hollywood produce since 9-11-2001. IMDB listing.
Years after fleeing the Taliban and immigrating to the United States, an Afghan man returns to his war-ravaged homeland to try to repay his debt to a childhood friend whose trust he betrayed. Marc Forster directs this touching story of family, friendship and bravery, based on the best-selling novel by Khaled Hosseini. Poignant and dramatic portrayal of life from the perspective of one Afghan family before (1978) and after (1998) the Taliban took over the country and ruined it. Very well done. IMDB listing.
Set in 1984 East Berlin. Provides an exquisitely nuanced portrait of life under the watchful eye of the state police as a high-profile couple is bugged. When a successful playwright and his actress companion become subjects of the Stasi's secret surveillance program, their friends, family and even those doing the watching find their lives changed too. Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. German with English subtitles. Very well done. Top 10 film of 2007 on many lists. IMDB listing.
The Unit focuses on a top-secret military unit modeled after the real life Delta Force (Army Special Forces). The program features both the domestic lives of the team members and their missions abroad, in addition to the effect their careers have on their home lives, wives and girlfriends. Episodes 7 and 8 from Season 3 were especially appropriate for Memorial Day 2008 as I remembered the ultimate sacrifice made by many in our Armed Forces.
