As far as the band, citing Wikipedia, Reg Kehoe and His Marimba Queens played from about 1938 to 1955 and was a hugely popular act, starting and ending each yearly tour with appearances at Hersheypark in Hershey, Pa. In between, they played up and down the East Coast and throughout the Midwest, traveling by bus ala the Big Bands and making the rounds of all the major dance halls -- including in Chicago The Aragon, Willowbrook (Oh Henry Ballroom), Melody Mill, Midway Gardens and Trianon. The woman playing the marimba next to the maracas player in the film is Reg's wife, Fern Marie, who died in July 2006.
I’m 62 and that act looked vaguely familar, I may have seen them on t.v. as a kid but we didn’t get a t.v. until 1955.
I’ve also visited Hersheypark in Hershey, Pa. but not until 1963, still, it looks familar. Wish I had a better memory.
I think I am in a bad mood, freeping has upset me the last couple of days.
I’m still mad at Fred Thompson.
