You mean like “from”?
how do we know that link won't take us to a malicious Valentine's Day Worm site?
I tried to copy and paste the article, but they must have it blocked from copy.
I would be very careful about opening any attachments - even from friends - because I have heard that viruses can use your address book, and mail attachments to your friends with your name and address as the sendee.
(That is why I do not have an address book, and never use Outlook Ex-Press - deliberately misspelled.)

You may cut and paste that, so you don't fear clicking into a virus download.
I got one about a month ago - the subject line said, "You have a card from a friend". Well, I deleted it, because if it was from a friend, I got a 'red-light' when it didn't use that friend's name.
Be careful - because a lot of people send cards to their friends at Valentie's day - before opening one, you might want to check with your friend first, and make sure they, in fact, did send you a card.
I clicked the link without cutting/pasting. What are the chances that the link is the virus itself?
Clearly someone hijacked their address book. Pretty nasty tactics...but then, well, so is abortion.
I didn’t have any trouble copying or pasting the link. Just the article. It just wouldn’t highlight - at all.
Hope I didn’t cause any misunderstanding.
I am just paranoid that I am going to download a virus..again..So,the link itself is safe?
Yep. It is the Snopes link.
I won’t open cards or even emails I don’t know. Just way simpler & safer IMHO.
My email has a quarantine box. Problem is, I have to read the subject line to make sure it isn't from a friend, before I delete the whole thing. (There have been a couple times there was email from friends in there.)
So, I refuse to check my quarantine box box before breakfast. All those horrible 'enlargement' emails, fake rolex watches, prescription drugs, cheap vacation packages, free samples, discount hotel prices, learn to dance, brown bag escort services..... Does anybody really open that stuff?
I use a mail washer program. So I get to see what is what & bounce all that seems odd. I like it & when I get mail little bubbles start floating up from my task bar. lol
I want one of those! ;-)
Info for mailwasher in your Freepmail
Thank you, Pandy!
