I'm really not whining here. I'm telling the FRiberals not to whine, they wanted a RINO and that's what they got. No... that's whining. Really. :-)
FR is a tiny, tiny portion of the conservative base, which is in turn a small portion of the voting population. Out there in the real world, people voted. That's how it works. They may be misinformed... but the truth is that even votes by misinformed people count. Just like all the others.

I imagine most’ll be clearing out of here soon. They did their damage and can go join the DU crowd they share so much with.

Well, there are plenty of people here who claim to be conservatives, and they have done a tremendous disservice to conservatism.

Good riddance! They can go be DUmmies, WAnkers or whatever the hell else they’d like, but no good can come from having them around here polluting a conservative forum.

BTTT
I would add, to all the Romneyites, who defended his liberalism, claimed only he was “electable”, etc etc etc.
How is that electability looking now? When we promoted Hunter, a true conservative you laughed. When the RNC and the lame media effectively took him out, you didn’t care, you said he was unelectable. When the RNC and the lame media took Thompson out, you didn’t care, he wasn’t electable, had no fire in the belly, etc etc. Now that they have succeeded in taking Romney out (we told you right along he couldn’t carry the south!), there is no Conservatives left to come to your aid. Guess maybe you should have insisted, along with those candidates who remain, that all get the exposure they deserve, not just the few the media and the RNC want to give face time too. Perhaps if you had, we would have a Conservative in the race now.
McCain is now your man, hope you enjoy the ride.

Isn’t the gov of Arizona a democrat? Not that a dem replacement would be any different than having McCain. But does Arizona choose a senatorial replacement by special election or does the dem governor get to choose who would serve out McCain’s term?

McCain is now your man, hope you enjoy the ride. Yep, that was my point in this vanity. They've spent the past year promoting RINOism, it's not OUR fault that they wound up with the wrong RINO.

And might I add: to all the Freepers who had their good names dragged through the mud being called bigots, losers, sons of perdition etc., thank you for sticking to your conservative convictions in opposing liberalism and RINOism. The Romney, McCain, and Rooty trolls should all be ashamed of their behavior on this forum for the last year. The divisiveness they caused is unprecedented and should never be forgotten.

As a Conservative FReeper... I blame Conservatives. Some were and still are Duncan Hunter die-hards, others were and still are Fred Thompson die-hards, some conservatives stood behind Romney while others refused to even think about voting for him. If Romney won then other conservatives were going to write in their candidate’s name even though theirs dropped out long ago. Sorry but the division between conservative republicans and country-clubbers was not what gave McCain his victory it was the division among the conservatives. I kept an open mind. I preferred Fred Thompson but he proved to be a bad campaigner. I would have voted for Hunter, but he didn't do so well either. As much as I would like to, I don't blame McCain supporters for their success. That’s what a liberal would do. I congratulate them. I will not, however, be voting for McCain. I refuse to vote for a liberal. I don't blame the winners like a democrat would do. I blame the losers.

“Now we dont have any of those things and I would like to remind people that senators dont have a great record of winning the white house either.”
And the two that won the white house, didn’t SURVIVE the white house.

Fox may have made a mistake with the caption under their coverage of McCain today. Or maybe they were just trying to be fair and balanced...

I also have no idea what happened with John.
Back in 04, I was looking at McCain for 08 and then the roof just plain fell in.
All of this could not have just happened all at once, the way that it appeared to have happened.
It must have been festering under the radar and out of plain sight.
Christ, in the space of a couple of years he went Kucinich on us.
