Having moved from Virginia, this is my first time to vote in Texas. I have to vote my conscience and I cannot vote for McCain, so if they don’t let me write in, what’s the procedure in Texas?

To tell the truth; I don’t know about write in candidates in the prmaries here in TX. I am pretty sure you can in the election; though.

I’m in the same boat. I was hoping that I could actually impact the primaries as this is my first presidential election that I am old enough to vote in. Sigh... don’t even bother we won’t have a brokered convention anyways.

Just talked with the Republican Party of Texas. According to the person I talked to:

The counties print the ballot, Thompson has filed in Texas, so there’s a good chance he will be on the ballot, depending on your county.

Second, write-ins are not allowed. The only other option than someone who is on the ballot is “Uncommitted”.
