He is just following the same coastal design ideas that have made places like Seaside and Destin so popular for tourist. They also follow the ideas of preservation while maximizing economic potential. Very capitalistic, they are not "giving it away", just making better use of the resources to make an area more attractive for business and population growth.

I have some friends who have invested in these projects, the last thing they are is socialist or liberal, even though it sounds that way. It creates a focused demographic and market base.
