Pretty rare...they only issue if a large tornado has been observed and is about to affect a large city or population center.

Storm spotters are currently tracking a ‘large and extremely dangerous tornado’ in Dancyville, TN, heading for Hillville, Belle Eagle and Holly Grove. This, obviously, is an very dangerous, potentially lethal situation for Haywood County, TN. If the tornado stays on its current path, it will tear into Jackson, TN in less than fifteen minutes!!!

Maybe the mods went on a taco bell run.

This sounds like a major event, and we could at least have it pinned in breaking for a while.

There seems to have been a tornado that started north of Oxford, but didn’t hit Oxford.

Thanks so much! I know people in so many of those places. Conway, Clinton, Arlington, Oxford, Germantown, Memphis. My goodness. Hope everyone’s ok.

Oh, no—not Jackson again. They got it bad a couple of years ago.

Son-in-law works in Jackson, but he would be home by now...please, God.

For whatever reason some component of the mods are weird about having anything weather-related in breaking, particularly if it isn’t weather in California.

WMC says damage at a Southaven High School.

Trees down at Collierville-Arlington Rd. Emergency crews having hard time getting to damage. Major damage to several large homes in the area. So far no injuries reported.

Yeah, better to wait until later tonight when there are actual news stories of death and destruction, rather than warn people now.

Not good. There are flimsy old houses in the poor part of town. That’s where deaths occurred last time.

Well, I think they’re annoyed by some people having posted on every tornado warning in the midwest over the years (and there are hundreds of those, 75% of which have no tornadoes) so anything regarding tornadoes is just sort of lumped together as irrelevant.
