These rifles are legal (for now)because of their mechanism (not semi auto) and the fact that there is no upper limit on calibre for rifles. They have attracted some attention though of those who would like to prohibit them (see the bit on the site about anti materiel weapons), so I don’t know for how much longer we can own them. Something to bear in mind when paying $10,000+ for a rifle and I got burned 10 years ago when I had to export my handguns because they were banned.
