Your question is about the relatively short season and once a week games.

I suspect, by your post, you are not all that familiar with “American Football.”

TV does not do justice to the level of violence on the field. I played some college football as a lineman. To put it in perspective, almost every play is about the equivalent of being in a car crash. You feel it for the next 2 to 3 days and it takes nearly the entire week to re-cover from the bumps and bruises.

The season starts to take it’s toll as well. By the end of the season, you have bruised bones, jambed fingers (or broken), nagging muscle strains that you can never get completely rid of.

It would be very difficult, if not impossible to add many more games without doubling the size of the rosters and rotating more players in and out.

I’m not sure if this helps you or not.

Go back and look at their first victory they were very gracious. And as for leaving the field, it was the Giants moment why detract from it by allowing reported to chase you down to ask that stupid, “What happened? What could you do different...?” question.

I laughed at Buress’s prediction too was Brady to say yeah he’s right ???. Burress pulled a Crayton and got lucky his defense pulled his butt from the fire. He caught a pass wide open in the end zone, other than that he played like sh_t and drop more than he caught. The defense won that game make no mistake the offenses played average and had a couple good drives at the right time. The Giants last drive came at the right time and left the Pats no time.

All in all a good game and the kind I like. I prefer a good defensive show rather than the 40-39 type games.

I took my children to Disneyworld this past week.

Every third fat bald guy in the park was wearing either a Bruschi jersey or a "16-0 Perfect Season" T-shirt.

Every third fat tattooed woman was wearing a pink Brady T-shirt.

By Friday, every time these clowns were gathered in sufficient critical mass in a ride line, they started chanting and boasting about how "we" were going to crush the Giants.

I went into Superbowl weekend disliking the Giants and disliking the Patriots.

By game time, I was a dedicated Patriot hater and neutral on the Giants.

It's quite an achievement to be more obnoxious and classless than Yankees fans, and Patriots fans shattered that barrier for me this past week.

How can you say that when the won every game during the season against good teams by good margins?

They lost because Belichick did not wear his usual garage hoody but wore that Giant red one and lost his karma :)

You and others think the Mannings are squeaky clean? Archie totally and unscrupulously manipulated the draft to get poor Eli off the Chargers because he knew LT would be the marquee player.

It was a business decision and the Mannings made no effort to hide the reasons. It is hardly the first time it has been done.

In the last few years, it seems that the Chargers were glad they didn't sign Eli. Besides, I think part of the reason Eli did not want to go to SD was because they already had a QB in Brees.

How many records does Montana have other than his super bowl victories?

Farve is by far the best ever to play that position.

The longest winning streak in baseball is 21 games (same as football), and there was also a team that won 26 games but got hit with a tie game halfway through their stretch. Like you said, the only reason this has happened in football is because of their tighter seasons.

I went to the Cowboy/Pats game and on the walk up to the stadium I have never witnessed and more classless bunch of hooligans than Cowboy fans. They were even demeaning kids ( under 12 ) wearing Pats jerseys.

One as_wipe actually grabbed at my wife wearing her Brady jersey. I heard more cussing there than I ever heard in my years in the military. I have been to a lot of places and usually held that NYC and the NE had the most obnoxious folks, but sad to say as a Texan, Cowboy fans now own that distinction.

Farve, Peyton, Brady, Staubach and Montana are the top 5 and hard for me to order other than to say Staubach is #5.

Or any fans of the OLD NFL vs. AFL Rivalry that are fans of the NFL side of it.

Still...

I wish the NFL would get back to teh running game as the staple of the offense. So few teams rely on it now-a-days. It is all about keeping the fans on th edge of their seats, kind of like the 3 point shot in NBA. They lost me when the did that.

I’m a lifer NY Giants fan, transplanted to New Hampshire. I gotta agree, the Pats fans are the most arrogant I have ever seen, far worse even than were Yankees fans when they were winning.

As a Giants fan, I was enduring huge abuse the past few weeks. Now, the silence up here is deafening, and is music to my ears!

And yet, there is only one in that 5 who owns virtually ever record as a QB..and with teams that are not that good. Except this team which is very young and has very good talent.

BTW. I understand that the Packers are 22 million UNDER the cap. I wonder how much over the Pats are. Expect the Pats to be a far lessor team next year. I dont think the Giants will do as well next year either. Its a tuff business.

The best player to ever play the game is George Gipp.

George Gipp I can see that.

Yeah the cycle will change next few years and teams like Packers ( if get a good QB ), Vikings, and Broncos with young players will fare better. Watch for Pats, Colts, and Cowboys to be good a couple of years the drop.

Cowboys hosed themselves paying Romo what they did. Several of the Pats are unrestricted free-agents next year. The Giants will not repeat for the same reason.

I was sort of rooting for the Pats because I have always disliked that ‘72 Dolphins team for making it seem like that record was the only meaningful thing they’ve ever accomplished in their lives. Former Dolphins RB Mercury Morris has given one self serviing interview to ESPN after the next. But since I’m not in the Northeast I don’t have to deal with obnoxious Patriots fans so...

Bad Sunday for Tom. Bad Tuesday for Mitt.

Only a couple of weeks until Pitchers and Catchers report.

And a few months until the Celtics take apart the rest of the NBA.

Now, like Bucky Dent, the Mannings have gained new middle names in the 617 Area Code.
