My prediction: The Patriots win convincingly (34-14) and the MSM credits “maverick” Senator John McCain.

I predict that the Patriots will win.

Why? Because whenever a former NFL team wins, the stock market goes up for the year. And whenever a former AFL team wins, the stock market goes down for the year. It’s a pretty reliable rule.

I think the market will end the year down. There’s also the January rule, that says the market will end the year the same way it ended the first week in January. Not as reliable as the NFL/AFL rule, but almost as much.

So it figures that the Patriots have to win. Don’t give me any of this stuff about coaches and quarterbacks. It’s just got to happen.

Amazingly enough, your method is essentially the same as was used to make the blade of Mann’s Global Warming Hockey Stick. ...Really.

You probably think NASCAR races are decided on the track, and that pro rasslin’ is real, as well.

I predict:

1. I'm going to really enjoy my wings
2. I won't win my block pool

Well, we'll soon see if it works!

I just googled for it and found this tidbit:

By now, many in the sports and financial communities are aware of the "Super Bowl Indicator". Created in part by "longtime Wall Street guru" Robert H. Stovall, the Super Bowl Indicator claims "if an old AFL team wins the Super Bowl, the stock market will decline during that calendar year and if an original NFL team wins, the Dow Jones industrial average will rise". Although some pundits have sought to debunk this predictor, it still carries an over 80% success rate.

Actually, I thought the success rate was closer to a 100%. There must have been some bad games since I last looked at this indicator.

No way. Those aren't my pool numbers.

Dunno, Eli has been on fire lately. I think the Giants will pull an upset 24-21.

Pats 34-20. Close first half since Jacobs will run well and they have a good pass rush. In second half Eli will untrack and throw at least 2 picks and the Giants pass rush will tire and Brady will pick apart the weak secondary. If they blitz Maroney and Faulk will screen them to death.

Gordon Wood was the best coach ever. He could take boys with mediocre talent and win a state title.
