It is up to the VOTERS to educate themselves about the candidates, their positions and their plans. It is NOT the politicians' job to go around hand-feeding dullards, sluggards, and other victims of arrested development still waiting for Mommy to make things right.
I agree with you and have been amazed at the number of so-called conservatives who think candidates must kiss their rear ends to earn a vote.
They sound like Liberals to me.
Personal responsibility is a core belief in conservatism. If people cannot be responsible for their own votes, they don’t aren’t conservatives.
