It is pretty, isn't it? California poppies and lupine, I believe, with the Sierra Nevada mountain range to the east. I am pretty sure that photo was probably taken at the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve just outside of Lancaster, California, which is about an hour and a half drive south from where we live. That is what parts of our central valley look like in the spring, particularly down around the Lancaster area. But, just like with the autumn foliage back east, you have to be quick to see them at their peak because the wildflowers don't last very long before the hot desert sun dries everything up.
All of this rain we have had this winter should give us quite a colorful wildflower show next month. :-)
I love wildflowers....we have some in Tennessee but they aren’t ready yet with our cold weather. I sure did like those you displayed. Have I missed any news on Chachi this last week? Hope he is moving around better by now!
