This is just toooo funny. Pets are a joy, and I warmly and wistfully remember my kitty Brigid.
Right now, you could say the nesting Momma Hummingbird and her two babies are my pets.
I am eager to adopt some kitties this Spring. Long ago, we had budgies as pets. Here are the two combined, as sent to me via e-mail yesterday:):)

Today is “Cherry Pie Day”?
Hmm. By odd coincidence, I had some cherry pie today. It was one of those convenience singles, two for a dollar.
I still have one left. Maybe I should be nice to someone on Cherry Pie Day.
.
Or not. It’s not like it’s a national holiday or something, you know. I bet they don’t even know.

That is perfect!! The babies love having all these Aunties:):) You should see how busy Momma is all day, going on food flights, coming back and feeding the young’uns. They are growing fast. I see the heads sticking up when they eat...:)

A purple rabbit wrinkling it's nose.
Pink gleaming clouds with yellow stars.
Sticky treacle that lasts for ever.
The sounds of birds that sing gently like a breeze.
The smell of flowers that catches my nose.

Count-Down for Spring
One is the flag fluttering in the breeze,
Two are the kites careening by the trees.
Three are the worms wriggling in the ground.
Four are the robins listening for worm’s sound.
Five are the daffodils wearing green and yellow.
Six are the bunnies the happily hopping fellows.
Seven are the crocuses bursting in the air.
Eight are the tulips swaying everywhere.
Nine are the raindrops dampening everything.
Ten are the children welcoming the spring.

SONG FOR SPRING
It's almost here - It's safe to say
I saw a Crocus yesterday
Its' colors bright - A lovely thing
My heart Rejoiced! 'Twil soon be Spring!
The winter blues will soon be gone
And birds will soon burst forth in song
The coral bells will gently ring
The Daphne yells "It's almost Spring!"
It's neary here! It's coming fast!
The Robins will appear at last
Oh Wonderous Joy! I too shall sing!
And join in Nature's "Song for Spring"

To The First Robin
by Louisa May Alcott, age 8
(1840)
Welcome, welcome, little stranger,
Fear no harm, and fear no danger;
We are glad to see you here,
For you sing "Sweet Spring is near."
Now the white snow melts away;
Now the flowers blossom gay:
Come dear bird and build your nest,
For we love our robin best.
To: JustAmy
Bon jour madam Amy.
Been plagued with vu ja da all morning. Thats when an old guy thinks that hes encountering something for the first time because he cant remember that its happened before.
Ive decided that this is not the fault of our recollector. We call recall things as well as we ever could but our ability to store information deteriorates as we age. Thats why we can remember things that were stored back when our store function still worked better than we can remember what happened yesterday.
