To: Soaring Feather

A poem spoken by one of my characters in Evil in Men’s Hearts:

I slept in the past,
time that shall never return,
like it was today.
Around my pillow
I smelled the perfumes of those
never to return,
orange blossom drifting
in bittersweet reminder
of that which once was.
