The only country which recorded a significant gender difference was in the U.S., where unhappiness reached a peak at around 40 for women and 50 for men. Because that's the age when each realizes they have pretty much lost their looks. ;)
FWIW, I'm turning 44 this year and I'm much further from feeling depressed than I was at 35.
