I am somewhat concerned that removal of said cat to new premises may upset the strangely unnatural balance of things at R’s. It is rather entertaining to go out on hs deck at night. There are some raccoon regulars who come for dinner and cookies nightly...one in particular, who will actually knock and/or scratch at the door until suitably acknowledged. Not too long ago, a possum joined the enterage along with above mentioned cat. Problem is, I don’t think any of them ever got the memo that they are different species. Cat and raccoon will eat out of the same bowl....at the same time. Cat will smack raccoon when she tries to get her cookie. Raccoon could tear his butt up, but generally just stands there and looks at him like maybe he isn’t quite right and goes on about her business. Possum could tear them both up, but accepts the lower position that the others have insisted on. Quite funny to watch actually.
