I do love Renaissance attire though. I’ve had lots of fun at the festivals shopping. I worked the festival in Colorado one year and costumed every day it ran. Absolutely loved it, except that it was often time consuming and sometimes not very comfortable, but I never was constrained to wear any of the bulkier type dress. Always felt for the royal court in the summer in all the heavy gowns and robes. I wouldn’t think chain mail would be too comfortable either.
Saw a lace up shirt that would have fit me at a nearby shop, went back for it and it was gone.
*grr*
Though I know I’d look plenty odd wearing a kilt.
