The President's FY 2008 budget request includes $407 million for DHS for continued develop biological, telepathic and psychological countermeasures (including an integrated pre-emptive threat agent warning and characterization system)…

Since 911, Homeland security had been urged to develop procedures to detect those people with the though process to break the law so they can have be removed from society as a potential criminal. Like all government initiatives, this one has been diverted from the original task of preventing terrorism to preventing all sort of criminal thought crimes.

One test that has been developed for Law Enforcement, at the insistence of the religious right, was a method of preventing sex crimes. Law enforcement can now determine your proclivity for sex crimes, and if you test positive you will be arrested and incarcerated as it you had actually committed the crime itself.

From April forward, Bus stations, Rail stations and other places of public assembly will be patrolled by a new Anti Terrorism unit which will be assisted by the local police.

Ostensibly, they are there to apprehend terrorists based upon behavior patterns, but as we know they will need to show results by the number of captures of bad guys, so I am afraid the whole scheme will soon be perverted to convert all arrests as terrorism related to provide for a larger budget in ensuring years.

A small instrument looking somewhat like a tube with some programmable components has be developed and the ACLU has been denied permission to examine the program in the name of National Security. The ACLU is appealing, claiming they cannot defend clients when the cause of a positive reading cannot be verified.

However, a Spanish newspaper has described the process and has been able to construct a simple facsimile of the expensive and secret unit.

1...Take a cardboard tube, say from a roll of kitchen paper towels or even roll a piece of typewriter paper into a tube of about one inch in diameter.

2...Look through the tube at any object or TV picture keeping both eyes open.

3...Raise your left hand, facing forward, and move it slowly towards the tube until it touches it.

That is it…

Apparently, if you have perverted tendencies they say that you will see a hole in your hand, and if the Law enforcement officer puts his fingers in front to the tube or you curl you little finger you will see his fingers or your pinkie through that hole in your hand.

Of course, this sounds like total nonsense and I really cannot believe that such can occur.

But the newspaper does point out that in the unlikely event that you should see a hole in your hand when this test is conducted you must deny seeing the hole in your hand or you will be arrested and they will claim you have confessed.

The obvious weakness of the system is that it relies upon an admission by the person, him or herself as to what has been seen, as it has been determined that to give a lie detector tests to thousands of random passengers would be impracticable and no way would such tests hold up in court.

Remember, when asked questions by law enforcement… Deny, Deny, Deny, your freedom depends upon it.

I am sure that you did not have time to try the DHS test because of the Super Bowl last night.

But I am curious to see if everyone had the same result that I did.
