It may have been his temporary home, but it was his permanent training state for what he just did.........we've known about him for quite a while now, the world just discovered him.

What do you do when you achieve that kind of fame and adulation in your early twenties? I do hope he can handle it, he seems like a fine person at this point.

Actually, I've been vaguely aware of Phelps since the 2004 Athens Olympics but he will always be remembered for his amazing Bejing success.

He seems very grounded, don't you think? Appears to have a great relationship with his Mother and sisters. Coach Bowman has said that he considers himself part of their family and is said to have kept Michael on a very tight rein. They've said that the both of them will take some time off, til the first of next year, then back to training for the 2012 Olympics in London. So, with training, their work at the Baltimore Aquatic center and Michael's endorsements he probably won't have much free time.

Chances are the IOC President will ever feel it necessary to publically scold him for disrespecting his fellow competitors like he did to that Jamaican jerk (heehee, pun intended) for his unbecoming conduct on the track after winning the 100M and 200M
