Putting a minus (-) sign in front of any word ensures that word won't show up in your search results.
Example: if searching for the holiday, Independence Day, type Independence Day-movie should eliminate any reference to the movie Independence Day.

Put a plus (+) sign in front of any word that you do want to see in your results.
Example: If searching for information about America's Independence Day, rather than those of other countries, type: Independence Day+America+July 4th.
