I guess they consider themselves lucky to have a roof over their heads. I didn’t see one window, but I only got through the first 50 pictures.

I can imagine the smell in that building. :(

Only a few had TVs. No stoves or ranges, just electric crock pots, slow cookers or whatever you call them.

Those unit are the size of a large elevator and with no window, pretty claustrophobic.

If the units were made of stainless with a drain in the middle of the floor; it would cut down on maintenance costs as well as the smells.

I wonder if there’s a big community room where they can gather and do stuff...

It’s gotta be grim.

For some reason I could not download any of those photos but I have seen some of them before.

It is a very old apartment house and Hong Kong was always overcrowded when that was built. Now that it is part of China they have been able to expand outward into China proper from Kowloon I suppose.
