Time Magazine picked some good ones, that is for sure. It is an eclectic assortment of photos - each with a story behind it.

The red-winged black bird, with breath vapors visible on a cold, winter morning was one that surprised me. I expected to see a cigarette between his claws. LOL

I loved the kitties on the dog, the squirrel hanging on the bird feeder (I have one exactally like it), the soldier trying to absorb the scent of his lady from home, the Northern Lights, the hunter and his dog running in a field of heather - and so many more; all have intense stories..........

Geeze. I gotta get busy and fill out my taxes. I could look at those pictures all day. Thank you for posting them!

GOOD MORNING ALL

I was talking with my daughter and husband last night and they sent me, via Yahoo, about 50 photos of some of their trip to Malta. At the time I was so busy saving them that I did not ask any questions.

Anyway, the picture of the walled city, shown below, I thought must be Avila, Spain, although it did seem a bit far south for them to go as they were taking the northern route through the Pyrenees to Toulouse. I did a Google Earth of Avila and found enough pictures to last a whole week. Which made me suspect that her picture was not of Avila. So I phoned them this morning and asked where it was taken, they had forgotten, but some place in France starting with a "C." After checking their map they called back and told me she had taken it in Carcassonne, France.

She had taken it from a hill side overlooking the town and from my checking of Google and Google Earth I thinks she has the best shot of all the pics shown there.

Shown below is her photo of Carcassonne, France and Avila, Spain where you can see the similarities. If you read the history of Carcassonne you will find our Pippin was involved too. :)
