Latest on my daughters trip to Malta. They left Rome yesterday having had bad weather the whole time they were there. They traveled south and finally arrived at the toe of Italy and stayed overnight at Reggio di Calibria. In this part of Italy the hotels dont seem to be connected to the Internet it is like a Brigadoon of Italy, a place where time stood still.
She says Italy is very expensive they ate much better and cheaper in Nice, Monaco and Cannes than in any place in Italy. They want tourists but it seems they do not want repeat business. Italys economy is in the terlet but the prices are sky high just like England.
They crossed over on the ferry this morning to Sicily and asked me to check the Internet for connections to Malta. Today, is Easter Sunday so they are out of luck today and I checked the schedule from Pozzallo and it seems as if they will have to spend a couple of days in Sicily as the first ferry is at 9:30am on Tuesday. They usually run a twice daily service but Easter has messed up the schedules. Apart from the extra expense of an hotel, Sicily is a nice place to explore for a couple of days.
I hope they have good weather.

Good that they were able to get to Malta today. The Monday after Easter Sunday is a holiday in Italy. Upbeat and looser, less solemn than the celebrations of Holy Week.
