FanFan, I know you didn’t ask me, but I couldn’t help but interrupt (butt in, so to speak). You might find “CitiKitty” a way to solve your problem. Obviously the kitty doesn’t like going anywhere other than where his humans go. This could be the solution to your problem:

The thing is, it’s not the cats I’m having trouble with. It’s my Aussie.
He’s just too logical for a dog.

Rush was peeing in the kitty litter, but missing, and hitting the wall sometimes. (In my laundry room, in the basement)
I took the cat to the vet to see why pee was being sprayed, instead of deposited, and they offered to do $1000 in tests on the cat.
It was Rush, the whole time.
LJ suggested a baby gate to keep Rush out, but the cats in, and it worked.
Really well.
