Everyone remarks how clean it is here — my pictures never show any trash anywhere, on that five kilometer walk along the Paseo Maritimo in La Coruna I did not see even one cigarette butt.

When I first came to Spain, over 40 years ago, it was not like that, there was trash everywhere. America by comparison was very clean, except for the inner cities. Now things must have deteriorated.

It's still pretty good here, except as you say, in the slums.......and the occasional anomoly.

The most littered place I ever saw was in Costa Rico. Strange as this sounds it was at a UN established "eco-park" on the ocean. Junk and litter everywhere. Sure glad the UN was there to help..........
