I want to speak to every one of you who supported Fred Thompson:
I have long ago combed the websites of the candidates, read the threads that chided or extolled their records,
and tried to gage their character even though filtered and massaged by their supporters and the MSM.
With Fred's withdrawl, and now left without a candidate for the upcoming primary,
I have re-reviewed the GOP hopefuls, and dismayed that I am satisfied with none.
When I go to the polls, I will still be voting for Fred Thompson, and the more I've thought about it, the more I urge Fred-Heads to do the same.
If you believe as I do, that Mr. Thompson was the only Conservative
(that is, the only Conservative who wouldn't allow us to be pushed around by International concensus-ism or slaughtered by radical Islam),
then vote to continue to have convention delegates "promised" to Fred.
IF YOU WANT TO SEND A MESSAGE,
ONE THAT CANNOT HELP BUT BE HIGHLY VISIBLE
TO THE GOP AND THE MSM, VOTE FRED.
This should be entitled, “Why I’m effectively voting for John McCain”
I am going to vote for Abe Lincoln......That’ll show ‘em!
With all of these vanities, I might as well make a vanity vote and write myself in.
I’ve never given up on Phil Gramm, so I’ll be voting for him.
I urge the Fred Heads and the Hunter crew to get behind someone who wants to win and is still in the race before we hand this whitehouse over to Clinton. Everyone on here loved Hunter. So why not trust his judgement and get behind the person he recently endorsed? Who would you trust more with the upcoming 2 Supreme Court nominations in the next term???? Flip Romney, McAmnesty, or a lifelong social conservative? Go Huckabee. We sometimes can be our own worst political nightmare.
I’m with yah.
It feels good not sell out, doesn’t it?
Depends on how your state does primaries. TN distributes delegates by U.S. Congressional district and you vote for the delegates.
The new electronic ballots may allow them to eliminate FRED from the ballot before 05FEB08. I hope not.
On to the brokered convention.
Attention! Attention! Reality Check - Cleanup in Aisle 12.
I was with Fred until the bitter end — but the bitter end has come and gone.
This is simply delusional. Fred isn’t even voting for Fred anymore.
H
I’m with you too.
Pay no attention to the sellouts and shills for other candidates.
Good luck with that.
“All too easy!”... Darth Hillary
“When I go to the polls, I will still be voting for Fred Thompson, and the more I’ve thought about it, the more I urge Fred-Heads to do the same.”
I believe there is medication you can take to correct this.
Maybe Fred will accept a cabinet position, Sec Def or State.
If you “feel” that your duty as a voter is to be “satisfied,” then by all means write in whoever you wish. My duty as a voter is to use my vote to elect the best available candidate for the country. That’s how I will use my vote. I supported Fred, and donated to his campaign. He has withdrawn. I’m not wasting my vote on someone not in the race. I’m also not wasting my vote trying to “feel” better.
I feel fine, since I don’t depend on politicians to make my life better.
You will be sending a message to no one but yourself - which is fine - but don’t think it will get noticed.
If you want to vote for someone who’s not running, why don’t you vote for me? I’m better than Thompson anyway. My views are brilliant.
I posted this response on another thread and now want to post it in response to yours (sadly):
I, too, was all for Fred. His views, his integrity, his ethics, his record all wonderful and all those of a true conservative and just what this country needs. HOWEVER, no matter how qualified one is for a position, if his own oomph and fight and drive and go-git-em isnt there, the qualifications are null and void. No matter how great you are, if you dont want the job enough to truly go after it, you wont do it well. Fred doesnt like politics. Fred doesnt WANT to be president. I firmly believce if he wanted it, hed get it. And I personally regret with all my heart that he has all the right stuff and none of the true desire. By his own admission, he disdains politics (dont we all?) but politics is an unfortunate but necessary part of the job. If youre not willing to do it with all your heart, soul, and might, your qualifications dont matter. Its sad but true.
