Call me a sell out or whatever but in this day and age with all in front of me I am voting for McCain because he can win and keep hope alive.

I really respect our illegal community for doing the jobs that our local white trash refuse to do because they can simply sit home and draw a check. I like their work ethic. I would hire them over legal, check drawing workers comp looking employees any day. Seven illegals will out work a Union backhoe driver any day.

Replace the word "illegals" with the word "slaves" in your above and see if you still like it.

Remember that illegals work without benefit of ANY employee safety laws and sometimes without full freedom. They are "slavery lite" but they make more here than they do in Mexico so more and more will keep coming. They have destroyed many industries in construction here in L.A. that formerly hired our working class. The fact that they work for peanuts without anything on the books finishes off any competition who wishes to obey the law.

You already have heard how in CA and other border states, the influx of illegal aliens has destroyed our health care, schools, and social services. It's unimaginable what you can find here.

People see only one side. They see the low cost of lettuce and the happy farmers getting their crops picked for nothing. But we already must be paying $40 for each head of lettuce in the social service, education, and jail costs for that picker and his family.

It would be more honest to pay a little more for the actual LETTUCE and have a legal, protected worker, on the books, picking it. Also remember that we do not come up with clever mechanizations for any industry where there is cheap, easy labor. When that's gone, you will see "cotton gin" thinking all over again, as in the wine production in Australia.

One Freeper has put together a great thread reflecting the candidates and ranking them liberal through conservative. That is a must read also. I can't find it right now but when I do I'll add it.

 

Be sure to read the others too. I came to Romney only after my first two choices departed ... Hunter and Thompson. I never thought I'd have to find a third. But a moderate conservative republican, which Romney is, is better than any liberal conservative republican (aka Dem).

If youve heard anything here whatsoever, its that McCain is a backstabber who has sabotoaged the Republican agenda the last 8 years (primarily as revenge against Bush) and cannot be trusted. Im sure youve seen the list.

I liked Thompson, now Im going with Romney. After that Id pick Guliani and then Huckabilly over McCain. In fact Id pick th DesMoine City alderman, the Abilene zookeeper, and the Butte forrest ranger over McCain, any day of the week. None of those guys are spiteful backstabbers, I bet.

Illegals are getting free schools, free healthcare, free welfare and probably several votes. They are not a bargain for taxpayers.
