Interesting. My mom always had us gargle with salt water whenever we came down with a sore throat. I guess we should have been spraying it up our nose instead. I wonder if it really helped our throats get better faster. Living in Florida, I’ve always noticed how spending just a little time in the ocean always cleared up cuts and blemishes.

I had heard that salt water clears up blemishes but I dismissed it.

You should ever go into the Gulf Of Mexico at least not around Galveston Texas with a cut or open wound. There is an organism, (vibro something) that will infect the cut and can kill you.

Gargling with salt water is good for a sore throat and flushing out your sinuses will keep you from getting a sinus infection. I always do that when I catch a cold otherwise I would end up with a sinus infection every time.
