As much as I prefer Rudy Giuliani for President, I just can't fathom voting against McCain and giving the White House to Hillary. Hopefully, most Republicans will see the lesser of two evils when casting their vote.
How 'bout a Giuliani/McCain ticket (or vice versa) for Pres. & VP? Think Independents would come on board?
I don't mean to sound like a desperate Republican, but sometimes you've just gotta call it like it is. :o)
Just look at the damage McCain's already done.
If he gets the nom, and Fred and Rudy are likely to swing their support to McCain--it's all over for the Reagan coalition.
I can’t believe what I’m reading here.
I’m afraid if Hillary wins the nomination she will choose Obama as her running mate. Any thoughts on that? I can see a hillary/obama ticket getting their base motivated.
I don’t care much for some of the republican candidates, but I’ll take any of them over hillary.
I agree. One term of Hillary and the GOP might just pull their heads out of their collective butts and remember what they stand for.
This is madness.
swatted yourself a live one. lol
Gets my vote for the absolute dumbest statement ever posted on FreeRepublic!
GEEZE what are these people thinking?
Don’t be so sure it would be that easy to have hillary for just one term. I’m sure a lot of people thought they’d be able to get rid of bill after 4 years.
His wife Cindy - the other woman with baggage of her own - is not what most Americans hope of the First Lady and will be a constant reminder of his adultery and the cruel way he betrayed his first wife.
I agree. McCain is not really a conservative, but one of those old democrats.
Giuliana/McCain. You have lost every marble in the bag. Rooty-toot AND Juan? Makes me wonder what the hell is going on here with this election. We have FR posters suggesting Rooty and Juan. At least with the media you know you are being backstabbed...
(just today on CNN)
McCain(1st), Huckabee(2nd), Romney (4th), and Giuliani(6th), but not a damn word about Fred Thompson(3rd).
Same with FOX. Right now Rooty has been on live for about 11 minutes. This morning CNN had Rooty on live for about 30 minutes. I have been sitting here at work watching the FOX and CNN monitors and today, ALL DAY, there has been less than 3 minutes TOTAL for Fred Thompson on the two COMBINED.
Tell you the truth I have royally had it with the media, my observations of it here clearly indicate that there is an agenda to blackout Fred and Promote the liberal RINO's
BTW, all the time I have been typing this, CNN STILL has Julie-Annie on live in FL. It has been about 18 minutes now.
If this nation sinks because of a thinly-veiled communist Presidency we can look squarely to the liberal DBM.
I've been listening to you moderates try to tell me for the past year that only a moderate can beat Hillary Clinton. It looks like you're about to see if your plan works - good luck with that - I predict it's going to be a massive failure.
P.S. The only reason McCain won in South Carolina is because he got the votes of Independents - not for the reason you probably think - but because they are trying to mess up the Republican Party's chances to win.
Let’s not all be so pessimistic. While I’m still devastated with Duncan Hunter dropping out yesterday, there are still other candidates (other than McCain) that may have a chance.
While I know there are TONS of Romney haters here on FR, he seems to have a decent platform, from what I’ve seen. Or even the Huckster may be OK.
Whoever we get, we will be settling, that’s for sure. But the McCain nomination is not a foregone conclusion as of yet!
McCain could go to convention and negotiate for the nomination, but he would be defeated if he did.
I think the latter may be the most likely scenario.
If he even looks like the nominee, The third party ticket will siphon off so many republican votes that Billary would waltz into the White House without a sweat or a plurality of the vote. Just like her husband did.
Without a doubt, Cinnamon, but my original point assumes that Fred or Romney won’t make it to the nomination.
:o)
Yeah, I’m been feeling ill quite a bit lately myself.
No way, NEVER!
This is WHY I decided to post this topic today...
...and one term is way too long...
Yes, unfortunately, the Reagan coalition seems to be spiraling downward, gosh! What horrible predicament!
