More French trash to keep you all going through the weekend.

Personally, I wish France were being governed by grown-ups, and that in such a serious world, the President would not come off as a buffoon.

His UMP Party, the government, and the French people are becomeing very concerned.

Well, this would probably lead to a next question, "Is the child really Sarko's?"

I wonder if Sarko want to pull Napoleon Bonaparte, who had rather scandalous relationship with Josephine de Beauharnais.

It is all rather entertaining, isn’t it?

I would rather see this kind of thing than all the homosexual nonsense that seems to erupt regularly out of our Houses of Congress.

I wonder who will be playing these folks in the movie? I am a little surprised to see the snooty French with a Hungarian President and an Italian First Lady!

I notice who much Sarko likes “new” things, it’s almost like he is trying to paint a picture of massive change in France with everything he does.

Personally, I wish France were being governed by grown-ups, and that in such a serious world, the President would not come off as a buffoon.

All former French presidents had their affairs and nobody ever cared since they acted silent and reserved. The affairs of Mitterand or Chirac i.e. were not published in the public. A little rumor and nothing more. Such is perfectly okay with me since we elect our leaders in Europe because of their leadership and not because of the "first ladies". The spouses of our presidents and chancellors are usually completely irrelevant to me and to most other of my fellow Europeans. Therefore they can have as many girlfriends they want. I do not care as long as their sexual life is not more important to them than the governance of their country. In difference to Americans we Europeans usually do not give a damm whether our leaders are married or not with their bedmates. It is irrelevant anyway when a guy like Sarko was married 2 (or 3?) times, Schroeder 5 times, Fischer 5 times etc. etc. etc. Even Merkel is married for the 2nd time. To argue morally would be hypocritical in those cases. This is a culture that is far away from the old Christian roots. I do not understand why such people marry anyway. It is easier not to marry at all than to face a expensive divorce. Consensual sex between adults is not illegal in greater Europe.

BUT... ...Something strange obviously happened to Sarkozy. He must have turned crazy. With his self-caused tasteless appearances in the yellow press he broke all unwritten rules and someday he will pay for it. The French might not be popular among American conservatives but they are no fools. The magazines that "cover" now the affair with Mrs. Bruni are somehow the pornography of elderly women (as a man I have to say that some women have indeed strange needs ;) ). Real sick. Sarkozy made a complete clown of himself. Nobody sane will elect him again since it is obvious that he is not suitable for this job.

Regards from Europe!

Andreas
