A man might be angry if his mistress showed up at his house, demanding that he leave his wife. But I don’t know how the “wife is pregnant” story fits in with all this, unless he was thinking of Maria as his future wife or something.

Mmmmmmm interesting. Perhaps he joked about it in a MAN CAVE where his buddies knew of the rape accusations and that the accuser was pregnant..the use of the word *wife* would be a *yuck yuck*.
