Heated discussion with a neighbor who wanted answers:
1. Did the *rape* occur in March?
2. Was the rape violent and was Maria treated at a hospital with rape kit etc.,?
3. Rape not reported until April by which time she was 1 month pregnant?
4. Rape charge handled at unit level as a minor dispute - not passed up to highest level of Marine command?
5. When the adoptive mother reported Maria missing to the Sheriff did she name Laurean as a possible person of interest? She was well aware of the circumstances of the pregnancy and all other matters related to the rape charges, the Military Orders of Protection and renewals.
6. Was the wife present in the home for the period Dec.15th to Jan 11th?
7. Did Maria drive her car to Laurean’s home, or was she abducted at the bus station?
8. Who returned her car to the bus station and if it was Laurean - who drove him back to his house?
Hi sodpoodle...Has it been said HOW Laurean ended up knowing what Maria’s PIN # was on her card?
Good questions. Between the sheriff, NCIS, and now the Marine spokesman, a lot of those questions haven’t been answered. I think they are trying to get some of those answers straight between themselves.

2. Don’t know. According to one report, it happened at the base. Probably no rape kit.
3. I think that’s close. She reported rape in April, don’t know how far along she was. Could finding out she was pregnant have been the trigger to report?
4. Investigators/prosecutors had talked in the week before she was killed. Military indicated the process had a chance of going forward. Her family indicated she was dismayed about prospects and was dropping charges. Which is true?
5. I don’t know if she named Laurean. That is really strange why they didn’t start looking at him immediately.
6. Wife present? A neighbor indicated he saw Maria’s blue car where Laurean’s wife normally was the week before Christmas. IOW, maybe the wife was gone when she was killed?
7. Don’t know. The neighbor indicated he saw Maria’s car at Laurean’s house and that he drove the car.
8. Laurean had to have dropped off the car at the bus station. When, who knows? Maybe he bummed a ride from the bus station?
