Good questions.

Just wondering - what does this sociopath's wife look like? If she is similar to Maria could the clerk who sold the bus ticket have mistaken them?

Several pundits have hinted that the wife was involved directly or indirectly, and that Cesar might have had help. Any word from his parents?

If two letters have been received from Houston, the last one had to be received yesterday (too early for mail today likely). It would probably take two days between Jacksonville and Texas. He must have mailed the last one on Sat or Sun maybe? He left on Friday. He probably took a flight on Friday/Saturday at the latest.

One of the problems with already establishing the death penalty for Laurean when charged, is that Mexico has no extradition for death penalty cases. Maybe authorities should reconsider the death penalty if they want him back.

Good point - As a former marine, the wife might have had an old uniform to wear.

IIRC there are photos of Maria taking $700 out of the ATM on the same day. Wonder how clear those photos are.

p.s. I couldn’t tell my uniformed son apart from all the other guys in his platoon.

I imagine Laurean’s defense attorneys will claim that Maria was having a consensual affair with Laurean who dumped her. Then she vindictively accused him of rape. However, when she tested positive for pregnancy, she believed she could persuade Laurean to continue their relationship and perhaps even leave his wife & child.

Her final, desperate effort to get Laurean’s affection was to drop the charges against him and check out of the Marines. Maria confronted Laurean & his wife at their home and became physically abusive. Laurean was defending himself & his wife and accidentally killed Maria. They both panicked and Laurean’s note describing *suicide* was written under duress and inaccurate.

Now I shall try to regain some sanity and fix lunch.

"Laurean was defending himself & his wife and accidentally killed Maria"

IMO, Cesar's wife threw an iron skillet.

I find it interesting that now that Sheriff Brown is no longer giving news conferences, there is an almost total news blackout from the local TV and newspapers. A loss in my opinion...

I must be channeling your thoughts, because I was thinking the same things last night that you are mentioning here. The Laureans would have had Maria’s military ID, too, so that is a huge possibilty. Not accusing the wife, but I think she is heavily involved in this. It’s highly suspicious that Maria allegedly bought a ticket to Texas, her family is in Ohio, and Laurean ends up in Texas.

Just expanding on Dante’s & Miz’s musings. It’s always possible that our brainwaves are connecting thru cyberspace in one giant harmonic convergence.

Sorta like a huge ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm;)

Prayer works like that too.

We should all pray for Laurean’s capture at 4:00 p.m. today.

That would be awesome if he is caught today. I had a dream last night that I had found a video on the internet of Maria and another blonde haired woman was in it. She had bangs and a shoulder length bob-type hairstyle and was front and center in this dream video. She was smiling into the camera. Weird

Referring to this link, Marine Corps statement gives timeline of Lauterbach case it appears Laurean was not at work for a few days before his wife reported he had taken off.

Tues, Jan. 8 - At 1 pm Laurean and his OIC go to NCIS to speak with Onslow County Sheriff’s Office. Cpl Laurean requests time during the workday to meet with his civilian attorneys at their office. His OIC approves request.

Wed, Jan. 9 - Laurean out of the office all day with his civilian atty; maintains phone contact with OIC all day. Laurean requests more time off to meet with civilian attorneys. OIC approves request.

Thurs, Jan. 10 - Laurean is out of his work section all day; maintains phone contact with his OIC throughout day. That evening, Laurean informs his OIC of a possible appointment with his atty's Friday morning. Laurean is told to call at 7:30 in the morning to confirm appointment or be at his work space at 7:30 if he does not have an appointment.

Friday, Jan 11 - Laurean fails to report to work and fails to call his OIC. His section makes several attempts to contact him by phone with no response. Cpl Laurean is reported UA. The command receives information regarding a note in the possession of Laurean’s spouse that will have a significant bearing on the case. The announcement is made that LCpl Lauterbach is believed to be dead and buried in Onslow County. Cpl Laurean is named a “person of interest”.

So his command did not see him after Tuesday afternoon. I don't know if Laurean actually met with his lawyers, or talked with them by phone. Has anybody read where anyone saw him after Tuesday afternoon? He could have taken all this time to plan, or to already be gone.

Just thinking aloud here...Christina had better be yapping up a storm about all of the persons whom her husband knew in the Houston area and in R/D. I’m getting really mad now, and the Onslow D.A., the FBI and the USMC had better darned well be making this very uncomfortable for Mrs. Laurean. They should charge her with just enough to lock her up, worry her family and isolate her from her daughter and everyone else at this point.

That said, I agree with the blackout. The tabloid tv reporters were having a field day with the poor Sheriff, so someone had to set him straight before he accidentally jeopardized the case. I also think that creep Cesar has been so well updated on *everything* via the media that he needs to have his access to “the latest on the killer Marine” cut off.

Bill Clinton really did a number on our FBI and our military.

Great find. I couldn’t bring up the complete Marine Corps timeline, and didn’t take notes on the live TV presentation.

I believe the Corps showed a thorough and fair handling of the rape charges, in view of Maria’s accounts and Laurean’s subsequent disciplined reaction. Without putting Laurean under 24/7 surveillance or confinement in the brig - there was no way to predict this horrific outcome.

If Cesar claimed "consensual sex," as most rapists now do, then at the least he violated the military's anti-adultery code and should have been discharged - or is that code only for officers?

I am with you in hoping this dangerous sociopath gets caught soon.
