As first reported by CelebTV.com, Britney Spears and paparazzo Adnan Ghalib were spotted near Palm Springs, Calif., the same day the pop star was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

The pair looked cozy as they playfully shared a lollipop, with Spears smoking, outside a bungalow in Desert Hot Springs, about 120 miles east of L.A.

Following Spears' emergency hospitalization for a mental evaluation, Ghalib apparently whisked her away for some private time. The British-born pap has a home in the desert community, according to public records.

Tonight I heard that they're at a resort in Mexico! She's not able to run far enough to get away from herself. Right now, she's her own biggest enemy. If she doesn't do anything else, she needs to get rid of that shutter bug that's with her. She's too vulnerable to be with anyone right now, except for a shrink.

I remember hearing that she was being held on a 72 hour psychiatric observation... But wasn’t she release in less than 24 hours?

I can’t help but think that we’re seeing something really horrible here. Sort of like Anna Nichole Smith. I saw a bit of her TV show once, and she was so wasted that I remember thinking that this is a woman who’s being used by everyone around her, and she’s going to be dead soon.

Once someone hits complete stardom and surrounds themselves with “yes men” who see you as nothing more than their meal ticket, very bad things happen. It happened with Mike Tyson, when Mike left Cus Damoto (who was his defacto father) and moved on to Don King.

I hope that the same isn’t true for Brittney. I hope that she’s able to get some help that she so obviously needs.
