Sadly, the relevance of the Constitution to our actual practice of law and politics is so small that it is not as important to read as everyone is making out. It is primarily a historical document.

Given the positions of some of the major Republican contenders I wouldn’t think many people should barrage you. You’re absolutely right.

I agree with you. No Constitution in history has lasted forever. 200 + years is pretty good I think. If we want one for our own, we’ll have to fight for it, and I don’t mean violently.
