I read once that if you could not give up alcohol (go dry) you were an alcoholic.

If I never had another drink I would not care so I guess I’m not an alcoholic.

I thought if you drank, then gave it up, you were a recovering alcoholic.

Actually, once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic.

Even if completely dry for 20 years.

Yes, even you can be defined as an alcoholic! ;-)

And I have read that even if you never drink again, you are still an alcoholic. I’ve heard it argued that if you never drank in your life, you might be an alcoholic who didn’t know it. It all seems a bit odd to me.
