Okay, so you have shown that you don’t understand the college game. The starter is the guy who gets the snaps. He knows the offense better than anyone. Take him out and the back up struggles, especially a freshman/red shirt player. However, look at the jumps these kids make year to year and someone who struggles early goes on to become a stud their 3rd year.
And, while you are on the subject at SC, their tail backs are so deep that all of them can start for just about any other Division 1A program in the country. Their defense is as fast as anything you will see in the SEC and they recruit in a huge area. They are sending lots of kids into the pros.
