Plus the zoo's disastrous emergency response after the first attack.
The slime jumped at the chance to defend these idiots. They did not have a choice after the slime smelled the ... Money ... Publicity! The slimester is like a wild tiger going after prey, don't you think?
“then how could they defend themselves against the disinformation put out by the zoo?”
They refused to talk from the very beginning.
They could see into the future?
Maybe they can, afterall! look who got turned into Meow Mix, and who’s looking for a big payday.
Yes the Slimester is also a specialist at keeping predators out of confinement so maybe this is just a natural fit.
Like I said, I await all the facts.
I wish the zoo officials had done the same thing.
Anyway, I don't know why the brothers have not cooperated. But in retrospect they definitely made the right decision, even if for the wrong reasons.
In ambulance, survivors of S.F. tiger attack made pact of silence

Speaking of Garbageho.....Why do you think his mantra was not “you let the tiger get out and maul my clients” but instead was “your people wouldn’t let my people use the phone”. Because he knew his clients had done something they shouldn’t have.
Bad zoo-keeping aside, this episode illustrates an inarguable truth: Tigers will act like tigers, especially when a-holes act like a-holes. Sadly, behavior will always have consequences.
Attendance up at San Francisco Zoo following fatal tiger attack

SAN FRANCISCO
Attendance is up at the San Francisco Zoo in the aftermath of a fatal tiger attack.
A zoo spokesman said there were twice as many visitors when the zoo reopened Thursday as on the same day last year.
Spokesman Paul Garcia said most of the 782 visitors to the zoo arrived before 2 p.m., when heavy rains began falling over the city.
The zoo had just under 400 visitors on Jan. 3, 2007, Garcia said.
Severe storms over Northern California forced the zoo to close again Friday as high winds brought down tree branches around the facility. No animals were hurt in the storm.
The zoo was closed for eight days following the Christmas Day attack, which left 17-year-old Carlos Sousa Jr. dead and two brothers injured.
Unfortunately, the tiger was not persuaded by your opinion.
1. The zoo is responsible for the death / injuries
2. The zoo should pay for medical bills / funeral costs, but not a dime more. These thugs largely brought this on themselves.
3. The tiger was doing us all a favor, and the police arrived a few minutes too early.
Exactly. If people had some common sense they would teach their children to behave & not be brats in places like a zoo. Adults would use some common sense as well. The animals are there to be looked at & enjoyed. Not to be taunted . But the zoo ought to be protecting its animals & the people & this zoo did not. I still say the whole story stinks .....
“How stupid do you allow people to be before you stop asking businesses and institutions to always be responsible for peoples irresponsible actions?”
Unless they climb into the cage with an animal, as stupid as they want to be when it comes to keeping dangerous animals from coming into contact with people.
Yep. And, unfortunately for these boys, the tiger was in the closest proximity to administer that “butt-whipping” at the time!
“People have no idea how to behave anymore and parents do a piss poor job of restraining their kids.”
And their children should be killed by wild animals at the zoo. That’ll teach ‘em!
I was responding to the question, “Should kids be arrested for tapping on the window of the rattlesnake exhibit?”
I think, no, but they should be escorted out. These mugs should have been arrested before they or the tiger got hurt. I am next to certain that this is *not* the first time they taunted a zoo animal. If they’d gotten a $100 fine the first time, everyone would have benefitted.
I don’t mean to place animals above people, but Siberian tigers are rare and its death is a great and I think, unnecessary, loss.
I think if you can’t behave & are not there to enjoy looking at the animals then you shouldn’t be there. I also think most parents think whatever their little darlings do is cute & therefore they shouldn’t have to obey the rules. Both the animals & the visitors need to be protected. People need to use common sense. The zoo needs to be upgraded & hire more people to make sure accidents like this never happen again.
You don’t have kids, do you? Disciplining kids is hard work. It’s easier to pretend obnoxious behavior is cute than curb it.
I have 6 children, the youngest is 8 yrs old. The oldest, adopted one is 30 and I have 3 grandchild & 2 foster grandchildren. None of my children have been angels but they DID behave when we were out in public.
