It was a stick shift and I really loved it. But it had a lot of troubles and so I traded it in on a brand new automatic Chevy Cavalier that looked kinda like this except two door and blue.
I hated it. Which then led to my old automatic Aerostar. Which also I hated. Which now brings me to my stick shift Oz.
And we all know how I feel about Oz.
But Oz never did give nothin’ to the Tin Man,
that he didn’t, didn’t already have...
Heh...I’ve told this story before, but...
When I was in my early teens or so, we had an Omni - regular variety, though...a hatchback. Stick shift. Mom *loved* that car, for no reason I could completely fathom. Loved it. It had various problems and I don’t think was truly that great of a car, but she was still really sad when it finally just plum wore out.
Years later, when I was out of the military and looking for my first car, we stopped at a (closed) used car lot just to scope out the models a bit before coming back for real. There was an Omni - kinda beat up and rather inexpensive - and she was fawning over it while I looked at other cars. She was really trying to convince me I *had* to test drive it...and then her skirt caught on the bumper and the bumper *fell off*! Way to convince me, Mom! We just stood there stuned for a moment and then very quietly and quickly put it back on and went on our way...
And of course laughed our heads off afterwards. ;-) It was priceless.
