Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Well, we took the trailer out for our shakedown cruise and couldn’t get the brakes to work at all... so we just drove it down to the service place. They replaced the plug on the truck. We left the trailer there anyway for servicing... needs the bearings and the brakes serviced anyhow.
Did it have brake issues last spring, too? Seems like I remember that being the case...
I now have a lovely view of the junk in back of the store...
I need another trailer...
No - this is the first issue it’s had. It hasn’t been serviced since it was new, so it’s due. Going on three years now.
I can see why the plugs would go bad, they take a lot of abuse and weather.
You need a hedge. A big one!
Lots of hedge...yeah...
Wish me luck...I’m going to bathe Cisco. Scary...
I also brushed out the worst of the shedding undercoat. Ugh.
Lol, does he hate baths that much?
I think Battlestar Galactica shows promise.
It’s mostly just a messy process. He insists on shaking every few minutes, he’s still shedding in chunks, and although he’s pretty good, he *will* bolt if given the chance.
He’s fluffy and clean now, if damp. But still shedding...in spite of the prior brushing, the hair left in the tub, and the tufts I pulled off while I was drying him.
Ah, spring.
Giving my dog a bath was always an adventure. By the end of the bath the water was usually black, and she never held still long enough to towel off.
It was very nice afternoon for trimming and what-not. Got another sack full of rose-of-sharon clippings. The dafodils are coming along nicely and there may be blooms next week.
“and I got some money ‘cause I just got paid...”
When are you “Leavin’ on a jet plane?...”
I found the new Star Wars movies to be kind of embarrassing. Very cartoony. The third was OK, but not really *good*.
BSG should be interesting - but man, they sure didn’t reveal much, did they? It was more of a recap. “Remember where we were? Pretty stuning, huh? Don’t ya wonder where we’re going with this?”
Heh...I also had a major issue last night *just* when BSG came on. All of a sudden, for no apparent reason, my TV started displaying hugh Spanish subtitles that were so distracting I almost gave up for the night. I don’t have the remote for the TV, and none of the front buttons were working to get into any menu.
I finally got ‘em to turn off, but I still don’t know exactly what did it. Grrr! Luckily I was recording, so I was able to start over.
Or one of them carport things...
Flight leaves at 10:08 tomorrow morning.
Werkin' on tryin' to get all packed up. Boys are werkin' hard at makin' me glad I'm leavin' town...
*sigh*
Yeah, or that. One of the gals at work has been giving me major grief about leaving the car out in the rain.
If I could find one that was cheap, would stand up to wind, and would hold both my car and my mower, I think I’d go for it...but I’m thinkin’ those three qualities don’t go together.
My daffodils have been blooming nicely for the past week or so.
You should get one of those carports. the ones at Costco are 200. If you put it over by the fence, you can secure it to the t-posts, and a couple more t-posts at each post.
It might hold up to the wind that way, particularly if it didn’t have the sidewalls except maybe the one wall facing the store. :~)
I think we’re going to pick up a couple three of them carports by next winter.
I just wonder how much water shelter they’d really provide...being open on the sides.
If they are really just $200, they’d probably be worth it...though I dunno if I could put one there, since the ground is pretty solid rock.
