Well, I’m back...
Welcome Back, Corin.
I’m up for the February challengeness. I’m not sure I’ll finish, but I want to work on it.
On the drive we listened to Fannie Flagg’s “Red Bird Christmas” and part of Ron McLarty’s “Traveler” both of which have stylistic things that intrigue me. We haven’t finished “Traveler” since we were a little less than halfway through when we picked up Luke at my mom’s. If we’d listened in reverse order, he could have listened to “Red Bird Christmas.”
Cool, then! I’m not sure how “finished” I can get but a lot closer...
I’ll work on my NaNo story too but not sure how much I will get done.
I’ve not heard of either book. Good?
Ungh...is the weekend over already?
They go way too fast.
The purple multicolored stuff is already earmarked for two afghans I’m currently working on. Yes, two. Should have enough, though. Both are paired with white, which seems to balance the dark colors nicely — it’s actually darker than it appears in the photo. One is a basic ripple, and the other is more or less the same as the yellow blanket I made for the niece, only bigger. That one I’m keeping. I like it. ;-)
Happy Monday, FWIW.
Why is it Monday? Why?
We could vote to change it.

Mornin’ folkses...
I’d sign that ballot initiative petition...
Well, waky waky radio says there’s snow everywhere. I gets up cheerfully expecting some white stuff... but...
Bupkis.
A few flakes tried to fall a few minutes ago, but I don’t think they hit the ground. They went back up and over someplace else.
Traffic cams show some snow up north by the office. Just an inch or so.

So moved and seconded...
We have some snow here... maybe an inch. :~)
Are you at the beach house?.... I bet it’s right up the hill away from the water.
Yah. At the beach.
Traffic cams show some white on the sides of the highway up 16 and into Tacoma.
More flakes coming now.
So I think you’ll have your snow day. :~)
Mr. Chairman, I call the question...
“Red Bird Christmas” is one of those “heartwarming” stories. But it’s pretty funny too the way she describes some of the southern habits/people. I’m wondering if I would have enjoyed it as much reading it as hearing her (Fannie Flagg) read it. I’m not so sure.
I like “Traveler.” It’s a good story.
