What’s up with Garcia? Why is he restless? Missing T.O.?

Here's an excerpt from the article I read this AM in the NY Post:

Gruden could not have expected to take the heat from his own quarterback, Jeff Garcia, who did not sound at all happy about his inactivity the past two games.

"I feel over-rested in a sense," Garcia said on a conference call. "I feel restless, so to speak. It seems like it has been a while since I have actually played a complete game, and I don't really like that feeling. I am more of an old-school mentality. I like to play until I am basically dragged off the field. It's one of those things where I had to deal with coach Gruden's decision; he is the coach and that is the position he took."

Garcia, who didn't play against the Panthers, is 37 years old and was forced out the 12th and 13th games of the season with a back injury. Gruden obviously was being cautious with his starting quarterback, who did not appreciate being treated like some china doll.

"I was disappointed about only playing a half in San Francisco in a place where I had played for five years," Garcia said, "and I really wanted to battle through that entire game."

Instead, Garcia was removed from that game.

"When that took place what are you going to do?" Garcia said. "Coach Gruden is one of those guys where what he says stays and there is no real challenging that."

Oh, I see thanks. Well, it's never a good idea to go into the playoffs out of rhythm and he's wise enough to realize it. Obviously, TB doesn't scare you offensively much but Garcia rarely turns the ball over and he can pick a D apart when he's really "on." Nothing spectacular; very dink and dunk, scramble a little here and there.

This one in Tampa goes either way, I agree. Since I ultimately support the good guys(Dallas), I must pick against NY, you understand.

I do trust nobody is checking my predictions here so they'll know how to bet the farm on the games. ;)

While these conditions certainly do not help my beloved G-men, they are a stake through the heart of the Bolts.

Compared to the time they had to go to Cincinnati for the Championship Game back in 81, it's a tropical heat wave.

I wonder if Lambeau field has an advance in-field glycol system to make sure the pipes don’t freeze up and explode. If I were designing a system, I would use heat trace to make sure that accumated water doesn’t cause a freeze up.

Wouldn’t the under-field pipes be drained now? And the pipes in the stadium wouldbe drained after the season, right?

They have the system in the field to keep the field from freezing. There is one at Heinz Field. If they a glycol system the pipes should not freeze up, but the ones in Lambeau did in 1967.

The legend behind the Ice Bowl was that the In-field heating system pipes burst and froze the field.

I have little interest in the game but reckon the weather/field conditions benefit the Yankees. Otherwise the point spread would probably (and realistically) be double digits.

I stopped betting on FB about 10 years ago, but it would have been a good one. I would take the G-men and the 7 points this weekend. Eli is in the zone...

You forgot the Browns/Raiders game in Jan. 81. Wind chill -51, air temp. -13. If he could, Brett would come out in shorts.
If I had to guess the outcomes of the games.....
SD 13 NE 34 I don’t know that I would call out an undefeated team.
NY 20 GB 27 Late turnover leads to tie breaking TD.
