I asked for a specific time a tiger cleared a 12.5 ft wall.

I will be waiting.

Um, late afternoon, 12/25/2007. But I suspect what you are really asking for is another time that it happened.

Since we already know that it can, and has, happened, how are we going to be any more enlightened with additional examples?

December 25, 2007. 5 P.M. San Francisco Zoo.

The “As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly" defense only works in situation comedies. In the real world safeguards are supposed to be in place so that the animals cannot get out under any circumstances. The fact that the wall does not meet Association of Zoos and Aquariums standards means the San Francisco Zoological Society is so, well, you know.

No sympathy for the punks on my part, but what if the tiger had decided one day to take a four year old, just because she could? From the facts we know now she could have any time she wanted, she just never was motivated.

I have no personal knowledge but I did read this from several web sites when I got curious:

"In the wild, tigers can leap as high as 5 m (16 ft) and as far as 9–10 m (30–33 ft), making them one of the highest-jumping mammals (just slightly behind cougars in jumping ability)."

This particular passage is from Wikipedia but if you search "how high can a tiger jump" that same information is found from multiple sources.
