They had two engineers on the Phil Spector jury, including the foreperson — and he wanted to acquit according to reports from other jurors.

As a practical matter, there is no telling where an engineer will come out in a deliberation. They consider themselves to be very analytical, and usually will not listen to the reasoning of fellow jurors who are not engineers.

Interesting. My guess would have been that engineers were indeed likely to be analytical, but also that most are conservative, and therefore feared by criminal defense lawyers and tort profiteers like J. Edwards.
