I had to laugh at one of the comments at the article site.
"Never bring a wiener to a gunfight".
that was me...they didn’t pull that yet?
I think it’s gone now, I don’t see it anymore =)
"Did your parents have any children who lived??? I bet they regret that!"
Yes, but that wouldn't kill him...and some people just need killin'...
Heh, heh. My parents taught me to not to make sport of the recently departed but, dammit, somet things just make you laugh. Clearly they could see the guy's nuts. I love it.
Sorry, Mom. When I get to Heaven you can yank my ear.
On a more serious note (not that this is a particularly good thread to try and get serious), the leftists who fought tooth and nail against having people involuntarily committed to mental institutions bear some responsibility for these types of deaths. I seriously doubt that people who go insane and commit “suicide by cop” have never had lesser incidents with family and authorities. Most people do this bit multiple times before succeeding. Without the ability to lock crazy people up, society is sometimes forced to eliminate them...
You could but then you’d have to book him.
And then think about all of the paperwork and court appearances, this way you get a paid vacation, er I mean administrative leave.
“Or better yet... why not just get him a cup of coffee and a smoke... and see if he’d like to sit down and mellow out a bit.”
Or give him a bong with some really great hydro dope. 5 minutes you’d have a living marshmellow. Got to keep those guns warm though.
Nah. That's good old-fashioned police work.
Today you gotta have cameras, bullet proof vests, computers, etc.
Besides, your solution is not macho enough.

The perp possibly also had an iron pipe. Local police chief is backing his officers all the way.
