Just a question: How do I make italics in a comment when quoting an article or comment?Just like that.

Hey, good job! Take a look at what I learned how to do the other day...
I cannot decide if it is clever or just plain obnoxious, but it sure is fun to do!
What do you think...clever or obnoxious?

Awww, rats!
Hey, do you remember back when you had to close your tags when posting or all following posts would match your html? That was kind of fun, actually. sigh

Yah...the days of one poster making a comment in italics, forgetting to close, and the rest of the thread posters jumping on him with "Begone, Eyetalians!" posts.
The good ol' days. *snif*

First of all I would like to say thank you so very much for your service to our country. I hope you did not take offense to some of the ribbing on this thread, it is normal hazing of newbies. Although, I would have expected a little slack given to someone who serves in our armed forces....hint hint.

funny thing is... I’m not a newbie. Been around for six years. Just lived with my lack of skill. Oh well. I enjoy a good ribbing. I give as much as I take. Thanks.

I guess it would all depend on the situation.
Say you were in a "discussion" on the religion forum over the merits of one system of beliefs versus another. At some point during those "discussions" one gets thoroughly annoyed at the person they are "discussing" with. Usually, I just leave after saying something like... "I just don't understand how many times you expect me to say the same thing?"
Now if I had that little backwards writing trick up my sleeve I would intentionally use it to repeat myself with some smart a$$ comment about "maybe you'll understand it this way" or something. In that case... definitely obnoxious, however, fun and appropriate. In all other cases, it's all the point of view of the reader.
