Take a moment and look at the Panasonic T30. 7.1meg, 3 -12 zoom and only 4 buttons - - - - - on/off; snap; features and review . . . . . . all the other options (dozens) are via the HUGE TOUCH screen.
Should be able to find it for $170 to $200.
Enjoy.

OK, let me be the first to correct MYSELF (Post #7). I should have referred to the T30 as a PENTAX. Optio T30 to be exact. Sorry abouyt that. I am really satisfied with the one I have for several main reasons. First of all when (if) you get one - - - - attach the strap FIRST. It is so small that I really was afraid of dropping it. Second, spend a second and look at all the things you can do with the touch screen like zoom-in and out; if you zoom in you can slide the picture around - - -reminds me of the I-Phone. You can write on the picture with a stylus or add stored frames or capture “things” and stamp them (a miniature version of PhotoShop) etc., etc. Changing options like shutter speed, flash, 12 different focus options are really easy with the touch screen. It also does video (30 fps) and records until you run out of memory (SD cards). Also the instructions are in English AND ON THE TOUCH SCREEN. Have fun.
