I agree. He's likable and unlike the previous James Bond he used a gun before (i.e., Private Ryan).
Of course no one IMHO could top Sean Connery.

James Bond was born in 1919 according to his obit in "The Man with the Golden Gun". He had amnesia after his encounter with Blofield in "You Only Live Twice". That would make James 88 going on 89!
I once wrote a book treatment where he returns to Japan and discovers a son that he was unaware of due to his amnesia. I thought it would be way to carry on the family tradition of James Suzuki!!Of course he was an Aston Martin fan so Japanese sports sons are out of the question.
A 'new" Bond novel is in the making for 2008 but the latest Casino Royale sucked!
