...And I thought that privous touchdown by WVU was the dagger touchdown. OU does not want to die its seems.

GEorgia lost to Tennessee because they absolutely psyched themselves out. YOu had a team with 17 first time starters playing thier 5th game together, playing a team that whipped them last year and they see that team get two quick scores and Georgia folded. It was a sad day for us Georgia fans because we saw the entire season slipping away.
To thier credit those kids didn;t quit though, and the results of the team that grew together throughout the season was seen last night.
I have to give West Vorginia credit tonight, they are playing with positive emotion and are playing thier hearts out in a game they could have easily mailed in. Of course, had they not mailed in the PITT game, they would still have RR as coach and would be preparing to play Ohio State next Monday.

I heard the announcers questioning Oklahoma going for two "this early."
It seems to me that when you are down 5, two points puts you a field goal away from a tie. One point leaves you needing a TD, 5 points leaves you needing a TD, or of course two field goal in either spread.
So nothing to lose missing two and a little to gain making it.
Wrong?
Actually, I think WV should have gone for 2 on their most recent TD, giving them a 3 TD lead, with the PAT they are down if OU scores 3 TDs.
Wrong?

But you forget that if WVU wins this game, it will give the needed respect that it needs to get as a serious football conference. This is the biggest game for the Big East.

It was the second mismatch, the Sugar Bowl. The other mismatch was the Rose Bowl.

Using your logic then ..Illinois was the Big Ten’s BEST TEAM (check the Illinois-Ohio St score) aand should be playing in the National Championship. Oh wait they just lost by 32 POINTS to a team that LOST TO STANFORD!

Bwahahahahahahaha. They should never have been in that game and you know it. And yet, Yesterday afternoon all anyone could fins on this thread and EVERYWHERE else was how Georgia was going to be SHOCKED by Hawaii's speed and talent... funny how everyone's story changes in 24 hours.
I do agree though, HAwaii had no business playing in the Sugar Bowl-- and I have been saying that since the matchup was announced, and all I got was the response I just referred to above.

Nope Illinois was #3. Just like Georgia was. It's the BCS nonsense that is at work here
Illinois matched up poorly against USC (somewhat like LSU matches up poorly against Ohio State), the worst possible match up for the Rose Bowl. They did not belong in that game or any BCS game. Missourri did.
And trust me, USC is inconsistent, but plays great with more than two weeks preparation.

Actually the Big East has had a lot of respect for years — they have multiple national championship winners and nat champ game appearances (albiet all by teams that have left the conference), and for the last 3-5 years WVU and Louisville have consistently been ranked in the top 10.

I never said that. I laughed and was derided for saying Hawaii would get blown out. I watched them get run on at will by a very bad Washington team.
They were easy pickings.
Didn't belong.

Not smoking anything at all. Now watching WVU play excellent football proves that dispite the lost of its head coach, this coach they got is coaching like he is a possible new head coach canidate. Would not suprise me if he gets the job tommorrow. :)

SEC officials are not used to such fast players. Give ‘em a break.
To: Lakeshark
Slight correction -- WVU beat Georgia 2 years ago in the Sugar Bowl, it was the coming out party for White and Slaton. Last year Georgia beat Va Tech in thier bowl game.
Gonna put this game in the Big East column - great game by WVU.

Sun Belt 1-0
MWC 4-1
SEC 6-2
Pac 10 4-2
Big 12 4-3
Big East 2-2
Big 10 3-4
WAC 1-3

I think the WVU staff should give serious consideration to keeping this guy, although there are rumors that RR is going to rape the staff of as many coaches as possible.
WVU would be better off keeping this guy than they would be hiring the Lil gen'ral Terry Bowden.
