NEW YORK - Lynne Spears' book about parenting has been delayed indefinitely, her publisher said Wednesday.
Lindsey Nobles, a spokeswoman for Christian book publisher Thomas Nelson Inc., said Wednesday that the memoir by the mother of Britney Spears was put on hold last week. She declined to comment on whether the delay was connected to the revelation that Spears' 16-year-old daughter, Jamie Lynn, is pregnant.
"I can tell you that we are standing behind Lynne and supporting her decision to be with her family at this time," Nobles told The Associated Press.
"Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World" was initially scheduled for release May 11, Mother's Day. Spears, the mother of three children with ex-husband Jamie Spears, had been working with a Michigan-based freelancer since March on the memoir chronicling Spears' experiences raising a family in the public eye.
Jamie Lynn Spears, star of Nickelodeon's "Zoey 101" and sister of Britney, told OK! magazine in its new issue that she's expecting her first child and the father is boyfriend Casey Aldridge.
Nobles and representatives for Britney Spears said they did not know how Lynne Spears could be reached for comment about the status of her book.

Her writing a parenting book is like me writing a book of housekeeping hints.

Just looking for the silver lining in this whole disturbing mess, but at least Jamie Lynne is not killing the child. It would have been very easy to get rid of this problem, at least she’s doing the right thing, not the easy thing.

I cannot believe they would have Spears mom write a book on parenting. A dysfunctional family. Britney is not my idea of a wonderful daughter and not the kind of a women I would like my son to bring home.

Just because I oppose abortion doesn’t mean I have to look on the bright side when a high-profile sixteen year old gets pregnant and sells her story to OK magazine. Jamie Lynn Spears’s very young age and celebrity status will lead to imitators whose pregnancies will end in out-of-wedlock pregnancies AND abortions. In light of this, I find no consolation in the fact that JLS did not choose abortion.
Will this be the third grandchild in that family who has a mom who is not interested in being a MOM? These girls have been sexualized since childhood and being sexy seems to be the only skill their mother has taught them. Who needs instructions from this
“Grandmother?” There obviously hasn’t been any training on how to be a respectable, decent, honorable, caring, and nuturing woman who can raise a child in an environment of love.

I disagree, age difference has everything to do with it. Would you charge a 17 year old with staruatory rape for having sex with a 16 year old?
